St. Michael’s Cemetery   D&G Sands are not affiliated to the petition currently on Facebook objecting to parents being asked to remove mementoes from the free ground at St. Michaels cemetery. We acknowledge the need for all losses to be treated equally. The nature of the common ground is such that it is impossible for everyone to have a memorial for their own baby buried there.   Hence we support the creation of a common memorial area for all babies buried at the site, where all parents can have the opportunity to have an individual plaque marking the fact that their baby is laid to rest there.
Annan Coffee Morning

The good people of Annan turned out in their droves to support a coffee morning in aid of Dumfries and Galloway Sands.  Wonderful home baking was served along with teas and coffees and various stalls including bric a brac, books, Tombola and cake and candy proved a big hit with everyone.

The coffee morning was organised by Lisa and Grant Seaton (and their army of helpers) in memory of their baby Oliver.  An amazing total of £2036.65 was raised on the day.

Next Support Meeting

The next support group meeting is planned for

  • 7th November: 7.30pm

and we welcome anyone touched by the death of a baby to join us.

The meeting will be held at our office at 107 Irish Street Dumfries.

Many people feel that only others who have experienced the death of a baby can offer real understanding of the pain and heartbreak that they are feeling and the support group meetings allow you to connect with other bereaved parents, grandparents and others who share your pain and loss.

The support group is an informal setting and is only attended by people who themselves have lost a baby or their families. You will not be pressured to speak and sometimes it’s nice just to simply come along and listen.

If anyone would like more information about these meetings or would like to express an interest in attending then please email [email protected]
