Collection From Much Loved Mum Eileen’s Funeral Raises £500 For DG Sands

Today (July 10th 2017) I had the privilege of meeting these 2 lovely sisters, Jackie & Emma.

They had a donation of £500 for D&G Sands, from the collection of their much loved Mum, Eileens’ funeral.

Eileen sadly had a stillborn son 41 years ago and didn’t get to spend any time or see her baby son. I was able to tell the girls of all the things we provide for Cresswell to allow parents to make memories and spend precious time with their baby, and their donation will go towards helping continue to provide items.

Thank you girls for thinking of Sands and carrying out your Mum’s wishes.

Young’s Seafood of Annan Raise £350

Susan, Lisa (and Matthew) were delighted to attend at Young’s Seafood in Port Street, Annan to receive a cheque for Dumfries and Galloway Sands for an amazing £350.

Christine McMath, the Healthy Working Lives rep, at Young’s said this:-

“We organised a screening at our local cinema to the showing of Grease the movie which was full of fun with some of the attendees dressing up. We had lots of fun singing and dancing along to the songs. Not only did we raise money for these two charities we had a very enjoyable afternoon.”

Huge thanks go to everyone at Young’s Seafood for thinking of our charity.

Next Support Meeting

The next support group meeting is planned for

  • 7th November: 7.30pm

and we welcome anyone touched by the death of a baby to join us.

The meeting will be held at our office at 107 Irish Street Dumfries.

Many people feel that only others who have experienced the death of a baby can offer real understanding of the pain and heartbreak that they are feeling and the support group meetings allow you to connect with other bereaved parents, grandparents and others who share your pain and loss.

The support group is an informal setting and is only attended by people who themselves have lost a baby or their families. You will not be pressured to speak and sometimes it’s nice just to simply come along and listen.

If anyone would like more information about these meetings or would like to express an interest in attending then please email [email protected]
